It’s No Surprise You Became a Nurse, A Poem

You may never know this poem is about you
but you are too humble to seek admiration anyway.

You selflessly save others.

You empower everyone around you—challenging and inspiring them to reach their personal best.

Helping to heal the body, mind and soul.

It’s no surprise that you became a nurse—oh angel in disguise.
On rare occasions, I have come across your kind.

That white face mask—
it can’t hide the Light in your eyes;
your kindness,
your compassion,
your grace.

You carry the weight of the world on your shoulders—
with immense strength, diligence and dignity.

Somehow you float above the pain.

You are beautiful.
